Tech Talkers® is a communication partner training package developed by Rocky Bay speech pathologists. This online 'train the trainer' workshop is designed to upskill others in the delivery the Tech Talkers® package to clients, families, colleagues, and key stakeholders.
By the end of the workshop, participants will:
3 hour videoconference training session (via MS Teams) with a Rocky Bay Speech Pathologist prior to you running the group.

This workshop is facilitated by Lisa Totten and Leah Cardwell of Rocky Bay, Western Australia.
Lisa is a Speech Pathologist with many years’ experience working with children with disabilities and those using AAC to communicate. Lisa is passionate about helping people to reach their communication potential. She believes that helping communication partners to learn and develop the skills to support AAC communicators is integral to successful outcomes. Lisa has been involved in a number of AAC related projects including an AAC caregiver study at Rocky Bay and development of AAC communication partner resources e.g. Rocky Bay Positive AACtion kit and Techtalkers workshop. Lisa recently presented at the AGOSCI Conference in 2019.
Leah is an Advanced Clinician Speech Pathologist in Complex communication at Rocky bay and has completed post graduate specialisation in Complex Communication needs at Edith Cowan University. She has had over 10 years experience working with people who use AAC as a support worker and a Speech Pathologist. Leah’s passion is to see her clients proving people wrong and exceed the expectations of those around them. Leah is currently involved in projects assisting in making COVID vaccination clinics and DFES (Department of Fire and Emergency) call centres more accessible to people who use AAC.
