Considerations over time

Presented by

Kristin Whitfield

Kindly sponsored by Control Bionics

Webinar Overview

Most individuals with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) will use Augmentative or Alternative Communication (AAC) at some point after their diagnosis.  The type of AAC and way they use it can differ significantly over time, however.  In this session, we will discuss considerations for preparing for AAC, using various types of AAC, and making changes to the AAC system.  Join us for suggestions to make the journey with AAC and MND easier and more successful.

Learning Objectives

As a result of this activity, the participant will be able to:

  1. Compare and contrast at least 3 options for voice and message banking
  2. State the primary measurement that indicates when to refer individuals with MND for an AAC assessment
  3. State at least three changes that may need to be made to an AAC device after an individual with MND has been using it for a time
