Let's Get PrAACtical: Implementation Tools and Strategies for Beyond the Therapy Room
Webinar overview
Speech language pathologists have a limited amount of treatment time with individuals who have communication support needs in the clinical setting, which is insufficient to develop language skills alone. Therefore, Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) implementation must be a team effort. This webinar will examine sustainable trans-contextual tools and strategies to optimise functional language and communication skill development during the AAC implementation process.
Learning outcomes
- An understanding of the role of parents and caregivers in the AAC implementation process
- An understanding of the language gap present for individuals with communication support needs
- Able to identify at least three tools and strategies to enhance AAC implementation across contexts
Target audience
Speech pathologists, parents, guardians, caregivers, teachers, education assistants, occupational therapists, physiotherapists and other allied health professionals.
