What is LAMP?

Language Acquisition through Motor Planning (LAMP) is a therapeutic approach based on neurological and motor learning principles.

The goal is to provide individuals a method of independently and spontaneously expressing themselves in any setting.

The LAMP approach can be used with both Unity® & Words for Life.

• The five components of LAMP

• How to assess for, and implement LAMP. Includes practical strategies for implementation
  
  
• Note: Day 1 covers the same content as the 6-hour online workshop. You do not need to repeat this content if you've already completed this online. Please see options below for registering to attend Day 2 only.

Who is This Workshop For?

This event is targeted at professionals working with people who use AAC. However, it is appropriate for anyone who is keenly interested in learning more about LAMP, or who is already using the LAMP approach.

Attendees may be parents, carers, therapists, educators, education support, or university students who have some knowledge of AAC. This workshop focuses on the LAMP therapy approach.

Workshop Details

• This is a live, in-person workshop
• This workshop is run over 2 days. 
• Those who have completed the 6hr online introductory LAMP training may apply to attend Day 2 only of this event. This option is limited, and completion of the online training is a compulsory requirement for this option.
• This workshop will not be recorded.
• You do not need to have a device running LAMP WFL on it for this workshop. 

About the Presenter

Leanna Fox Leanna Fox is a speech pathologist with 20 years experience in the field of disability. She has worked in clinical roles across the government, health and private sectors. She currently works for the centre for AAC and Autism providing training and support for the LAMP therapy method. In addition to this Leanna works in private practice supporting both children and adults. She has a strong person centred philosophy and believes therapy should always be fun.

Registration and Cancellation Policy

Registration is only confirmed upon full payment of fee. To access the discounted rate for members you must be logged into your AGOSCI member account prior to registration. 

• 100% refund until 60 days before event.
• 50% refund between 8-59 days before event. 
• No refunds within 0-7 days before event start date.

Applications for registrations are subject to final approval by AGOSCI to ensure fair and equal access to events across organisations. Waitlist registrations will be taken upon all positions being filled.
